how come a lot of people think that kids who go to private school r so stuck up?

Don’t worry, I was homeschooled, so I know what it’s like to feel ostracized! Good luck! Also, a lot of people who don’t go to public school have a good reason and a noble reason for what they do!!!
That’s my opinion, anyway, for whatever it matters.
🙂
It probably stems back to when public schools were first introduced, 150 years ago or so. Before that, the only schools were private and homeschool, and only the very wealthy were able to afford private school. This was also when many societies were still based in the mindset of “the wealthy and educated have the power”…so I guess they may have been stuck up, to some degree.
This mindset has stayed with society over the past 100 years or so; only in the last 40-50 years (post WWII) have most private schools been available to most families.
There are still some private schools where the kids are highly pampered and probably are pretty stuck up, but for the most part, this isn’t the case. My son previously attended an excellent private school – one of the best in the country, according to stats – and the kids there were some of the most friendly, outgoing, down-to-earth kids I had met up till then…and the parents were highly involved, both in their lives and in their schools.
If you get people treating you like this, feel free to call them on it – why would you judge me like that, just because I attend private school? Honestly, how would they feel if you judged them as uneducated or robotic because they don’t attend your school? (Not saying you ever would – you don’t seem like the type – just turning the tables on their mindset.)
Good luck!
I guess people assume that only rich snobby people go to private.
