High School Advice?

I don’t know whether to switch high schools or not, and beginning of term is just over a month away. Hialeah (possible school) got an F-grade, but the way I see it, it doesn’t affect me all that much. Academically, MLEC (current, B-grade) is good and it’s safe, but it doesn’t have much to offer from when it comes to electives, there aren’t many clubs either. Colleges look for well rounded students, so students who are good at sports, arts, and have good grades are preferred. Graduating from MLEC doesn’t get you so far ahead from others that didn’t, and I doubt colleges base their opinions strongly on that. They look at your grades and the intensity of your class (and I can take Honors, AP, and Gifted at Hialeah). I’m not too into sports, but I do agree a lot that many, many, many more successful people have graduated from worse high schools.

go to the school that you think will lead you to a better future. it is only 3 years, and you will live probably more than 50 years. and without a good job and money, you wouldn’t be very happy. it doesn’t matter what your family thinks, it’s YOUR choice. You should choose. choose the high school that makes you most happy. if you don’t like your current high school then maybe you should switch. you decide.

If Hialeah is such a bad school, you don’t want to go there. If you don’t get a good education, you won’t do as well at college. At the very least, you’ll have a harder time at college. Maybe you won’t be top-ten where you are at, but you still will have a better education to show for it.

Do what you feel is right. Electives are great, they help you to decide what you are interested in for the future of your education and also career. Dont get hung up on thinking a school is the only place that can make you a well rounded person. You can do activities outside in your community and that is more valuable than school activities. Also it will help knowing where you want to attend college. Knowing where you are going will help gauge your decision in what you want to pursue in and out of school
