You freshman year is going to be quite important.

Disregard what people are saying about not being friends with upper-classmen, they have already taken most classes you are taking and are the next best from teachers for asking for help with homework.

Don’t get caught up in the drama of popularity, yeah its awesome to be the popular guy or girl, but in THE REAL WORLD popularity is non-existant. It truly is a waste of time.

Keep on top of your homework, don’t let yourself slip up too much, one thing can lead to another, and next thing you know you are so far behind in late homework that it will seem hopeless.

Ask questions when you don’t understand something, noting is worse that sitting in front of a question or math problem with no idea how to even start it.

If you slack off your freshman year, it will hurt you in later years. Personally I did slack off, and got straight C’s freshman year, and even straighting up and getting 4.0 for many, many quarters, I only ended up with a 3.2 GPA.

Go in strong, don’t give up, and I promise you, you will make it out and straight into a 4 year college doing whatever you want.

A freshman taking AP classes? You must be pretty smart then considering at my school only juniors and seniors do APs. Smart is good, but don’t brag about it. Don’t try to act cool, just because you’re going into high school doesn’t mean you’re any cooler or older or whatever. Upperclassmen will not appreciate the attitude. Other than that, with AP classes doing homework every night and taking good notes in class is important. Be sure you get a planner to record all your assignments in.

Ok, first thing, if there are any upperclassmen saying there going to pick on freshmen, chances are its not as bad as they make it seem. I’m a junior myself and take it for me, its almost granted that all they’ll do is call you a freshman. (you have nothing to be ashamed of, everyone goes through it.)

Second, be familiar with your school. If your high school has orientation, go to it. If they don’t, call the school to see when you can go by and check out your schedule, and maybe even pick out a locker, if they don’t assign you one.

and Third, your a smart kid, just taking AP classes tells me that but make sure not to become cocky about it. No one likes a brag.

And remember to be yourself. =)

ok it’s important to stay on top of your schoolwork. the first few weeks of school I didn’t really pay attention that much and it put me in a hole. I took all pre-ap, because my school doesn’t offer AP classes to freshman.. so those were the hardest classes for freshman, so I was kinda in the same boat as you, and messing around the first few weeks of school was a mistake! just pay attention and you’ll be good ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not gonna lie to you and say freshman year wasn’t hard at times, because it was but I think it’s different for people just depending on whats going on in your life. people are sometimes gonna change so you’ll just have to be prepared for that, and chances are you’ll change a little too.. in my opinion, freshman year you start to come into your own. it helps you find out who your friends are.

I was a freshman last year, and it’s not too bad. don’t worry too much about it. I was nervous before too, but just be yourself and it’s all good ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t talk **** about ANYBODY. Don’t try to be friends with the upperclassmen. If somebody is pissing you off, IGNORE. If it gets out of hand, do the next best thing and get a counsler involved. Focus on your studies and don’t jack off. The Freshman year is very important though most people don’t know it.

Good luck.

Do your absolute best. Everyone does great in the first quarter but starts to slack off in the second quarter. Keep do your best. I started to slack of and i just took my regents ? not so easy. Join a lot of clubs for college, seriously don’t be a slut. that will stick with you for the next three years.

Wow. It’s only your first year; you shouldn’t be taking all APs. It’ll only make your year harder, unless you’re a genius. But relax and have fun. High school gets better, promise.

You have to treat high school like prison. Shiv the first guy who gives you any guff. After that, smooth sailing.
