do you think that american high schools run efficiently?

The school system is designed to teach kids go to college, learn a profession and get a safe secure job where you will eventually earn a pension for life. While this would have been proper advice for anybody born before 1930, this way of thinking is very outdated.
As you might know, it is becoming harder and harder to find security in a job. This is largely caused by the dismissal of the Industrial Era and the coming of the Information Era.
While the school systems are teaching this outdated information, they are doing very little in educating kids in the way of financial matters, which is ultimately the key to survival, right?
You have two routes in school: College Major or Study Hall Major.
Only 10% of the students even try for college and half of them drop out after the first year. So schools concentrate on 5% of the kids maximum and leave the other 95% generally behind.
Oh, if you pay attention you can read, write to a degree, do simple math. But there’s nothing pratical in that.
Another job of the schools is to keep young people out of the work force until around 18. This is to allow for older people to get jobs at McDonalds or K-Mart
It is common knowledgde that when americans graduate high school they have learned as much as someone who still has to learn 2 years in most western european countries. (gb not included)
i mean you can see the results on the streets….
what’s the question ?
of course it’ll help having values at home and parents need to teach their kids manners as well as how to behave – not kill, injure, maime, destroy property and drugs/drinking ////
