Do U Like Science? 1st grd thru H. S.: How many Science classes did U take in school? Wht Grd R U in now?

From 1st grade through High School:

How many Science classes did you take in school?

What grade are you in now?

Did the class include lots of hands-on activities?

Did you get to design or build something?

In my state science is only required for 5th, 8th, and 10th grades. Most schools do not do hands-on activites, almost no design and, even less creative applied-theory projects.

I’m trying to figure out what to do; if we have to keep hiring people from outside the US? Maybe, we should relocate the company to another Country? After all it is a world market place we sell to.

I wouldn’t say science is my favorite subject. but I didn’t hate it. I got up to physics and we did a ton of hands on stuff in all my grades. Here we have to take science until your senior year and even then it is recommended.

I had a science class every year since 1st grade, its required. But in high school only 3 years are required. I ended up taking 6 science classes in high school. I am going to be a senior and have two sciences classes this year, so yes i love science. I had two science classes last year. I had Physics last year and will have KAP Physics this year (Kenyon College Credit). I think my physics class had the most hands on activities. We had to build a bridge, and i loved that, also we had a lab at least once a week. Biology had some hands on, and chemistry too, but if you want to build stuff and are a kinetic learner (like me) physics is awesome. You are probably wondering why some many sciences (hint med school lol). :} hope that helps, Oh and i live in Ohio, where do u live? (state)

I don’t like science. I’m presently in 9th grade.

Science is a mandatory subject for all grades from 1st through 10th in my school(or rather my education board).

Till 5th grade, its considered only as science. Then, we have physics, chemistry and biology. We don’t have a lot of hands on activities. There are opportunities given to build/design something..but I havn’t done any of that for the lack of my interest.

In elementary school (also my middle school)(k-8) I had one science class per year so 8 classes there( in kindergarten we just did general stuff). In High school I took 6 science classes (only required 3, and 4 for honors) (Bio 1(fr. year) Ag. Science(fr. yr), ( could also be counted as an elective), chem 1(soph. yr), chem 2(jr. yr), Bio 2 and physics(sr. yr)). I doubled up on science my senior year. I took 14 total science classes. I am currently a freshman in college (class starts tomorrow) and I have no science classes for this first semester.

Science is my favorite subject. I am in eighth grade. I have taken science every year and I am in the science magnet. Everything is a hands on activity and recently we had to build a geodesic dome for civil engeneering. Also we had to build a biosphere that would hypothetically live on mars.

yes. i have taken one every year. it was nothing in elementary. middle school took life science and physical science. freshman year in high school took bio honors. soph year took chem honors. junioryear im taking AP bio and AP chem.

im in 11th grade now. in chemistry we barely did any labs. thats because its all calculations and we are not allowed to work with radioactive chemicals anymore. its all gonna be notes in bio and work in chem, but when you get to college, im sure youll get to do 3 hour labs and write up like 50 page lab reports in college.

in california.

yup…..

in my school science was mandatory till middle school 1 class per year.

as for high school, bio for 9th grade. chem and physics for 10th grade. AP chem and AP physics for 11th grade. i’m currently in 11th grade. for bio and chem, it was all labs and stuff. and for physics we got to make bridges and egg catcher from tooth picks. it was kinda fun, until your hard work just failed. haha
