Honestly, middle school doesn’t even count, it’s your gpa, and rank in high school that count. Just make sure you continue the way you are doing things now. =]

Also, I don’t think that violin lessons, guitar lessons, golf lessons, or art lessons count, unless they were with your school. Many of your extracurriculars *will* count, but not your lessons. Stay smart! =]

Hi there! Dependent upon whether or not your school weights grades for AP and honors courses will determine whether or not that method could bump your GPA up. A’s are A’s my friend. High or low, its an A. As long as it shows a 4 on your report card you’re good to go. Not really sure why your school selects several, but hey use it to your advantage. Every year in high school counts towards being a valedictorian. Making sure you get every A possible will increase your chances in achieving your goal. Being a junior in high school and only having 2 or 3 B’s that would put you at about a 3.86 (without being weighted) … R.I.C. (rank in class) is also a big deal. You can’t get 1 now, but you’re still way up at the top. All in all you have a very good likelihood of being one of the valedictorians. Coming from a senior in high school who has a 3.86 I’m telling you FIGHT FOR EVERY A YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET. Good luck and hope I was some sort of help!

At my school being valedictorian is all about grades. So you have 2 students with higher grade point averages. Unless they both makes some low grades or transfer out by the end of the school year your chances are not good for valedictorian.

We have another honor for all round student. You might come in very high in that category, however, it is also competitive … based upon what the other students are doing.

You stand a chance if you get better than the 1 and 2 out of 100 kids. Valedictorian is 1 out of ___, not 3. But valedictorian doesn’t mean anything unless you’re in high school.

Yeah! But you’re not in highschool yet, so it won’t matter for college, but keep those same grades when you get to high school, and you’ll be valedictorian of high school.

Yes, you have a good chance.

It is not as important though as you may think. What is important is your daily work and your attitude and your helpfulness and understanding for others.
