Biology Honors and/or US History Honors?

I will be starting 10th grade next Thursday and I’ll have a few days to change my schedule if I wish. I just got my schedule and over the past few weeks I’ve been thinking about switching to Honors Bio and maybe even US History Honors.

My question is how hard is Honors Bio? the teacher I’m getting for regular bios is suppoes to be very good, but I’m not sure whether or not I’d have him for honors Bio. And how hard is US History Honors? Truth is, I’m not all that great social studies and maintained a B- or B+ (forget the exact grade letter) in World Civilizations last year. Do you think I should switch or what? thanks for your help.

If you feel confident you could get a good grade in honors biology, go for it. I’m in an honors biology class this year (although I’m only in 9th grade) and it’s much harder than a normal biology class. The class is fast paced because we do so much, we have lots of HW and do harder projects than normal classes, and we only have a short amount of time to learn certain material before we move on to the next unit. It’s a really fun class though.

I’ve been in honors history for the past 3 years and my advice to you is this; f you struggled with a normal history last year, you probably shouldn’t do an honors history class because it’ll be a much harder class than a normal history class. If you’re willing to put a lot of effort into it to get a good grade, you might be able to do it.

Coming from personal experience, balancing 2 honors classes can get challenging, especially if you do lots of extracurricular activites. If I were you I’d choose to do just one for now, unless you’re willing to commit to both classes and do your best.

To be honest honors classes require more in depth assignments, but less busy work. The honors classes are the ones where students want to learn so you will get to do more projects and activities rather than worksheets and boring stuff. The non honors classes are not as well behaved and teachers want to keepp em busy so they do not get out of control. I say go for it.

well see this is what you should do. honestly from what i have heard hns. bio is hard. no matter how good your teacher is…the work load is obviously more and a lot more homework and tougher projects. but its good. its a challenge filled class that should push you. but if it was me id much rather prefer us hist. hns. (i am taking that clas)but the thing is a history hns. requires a lot of writing component. and i dont kno how good u are with Language and such so do what you think is right. if your good at la and alright with us hist then go for it. and if your more of a challenge person go for bio.
