It’s hard to avoid the drama in high school, yeah I know. ;( My best suggestion is to not allow yourself to get caught up in any of it. That would mean to avoid gossip of others, don’t listen to any and don’t repeat any. Be loyal to only a very few good friends.

If you are already caught up in some drama, best thing you can do is to back off, shut your mouth, ignore ignore ignore. And yep, that’s hard to do! It’s kind of like this: choose your battles! When you are in the midst of some drama, ask yourself, “Is this the hill I want to die on?” That just means deciding for yourself if the event/situation really really matters. Ask yourself, “will whatever I can do or say really matter to me or anyone else ten years from now? Will whatever I can do or say make a positive difference in my life or my good friends’ life? If the answer to those questions to yourself are no, then back off, shut your mouth, ignore ignore ignore.

Most of the drama that happens among teens are usually started by little things that get blown wayyyy out of proportion by others jumping in the middle of it and interfering. My advice to my sons when in high school was to do what I said above, they each listened to me and tried it. When their friends (male and female both) noticed they weren’t caught up in the drama as many of them were, my sons told them what they were doing to avoid it. It started to spread around, and pretty soon there was a lot LESS drama going on around them. 🙂 So doing this really works!

Noooooo it’s not easy to start doing, especially if you’ve managed to get caught up a lot in the drama. (And if you are the one starting the drama, then knock if off! lol) But starting to do this now will only help you in the long run, because this doesn’t just happen to teens, it happens to adults too!. There can be peace in your school, it has to start somewhere. Might as well be with you, eh? *grin*

Good luck!

don’t have a best friend triangle meaning don’t have 3 people that are all best friends, triangles never work someone was always in a fight and the other was in the middle. so if you have more than one best friend try to avoid having all 3 of you become friends.

that was the source of most of my drama in 10th grade last year

oh communicate and don’t over react to little things like not returning call/txt right away, that causes a lot of drama too

I am now in a 11th grader and all I can say is this…

Drama is difficult to avoid. Try not to get involved with fights between friends and things like that. Make it clear you want to be no part of it.

High school can be tough. But its not so bad. Plus a little bit of drama sometimes makes things interesting.

you can’t really avoid the drama of other people, but you can make it not affect you by just taking a few deep breaths and realizing “wow… this is dumb.” i mean honestly, who cares if Sarah and John were making out by the football posts?!?! it’s really not a very big deal.

I was never much into acting…I got out of auditionin for parts in the plays by signing up for set design, makeup, costumes, and prop coordinator, and lighting. I was able to fullfill the credit without having to stand up and act.

Sorry, you were talking about people’s drama…just keep to yourself…don’t buy into anything…become a loner…people will eventually leave you alone.

Avoiding it? That’s not a possibility, I’m sorry. You just have to deal with it the right way.

Don’t talk with anyone who starts drama and ignore them..I have drama in my school all the time..just try to ignore them and stick with your friends.Try to just focus on school and forget about everything going on around you and you will forget about it if you’re not involved with any drama.♥

AGHHH! It never ends. The catty co-workers, who have to whisper and gossip about everyone. (Yes, these co-workers are twice my age, mind you!) and the neighbors, who talk about other people behind their back and smile and chat when they see them.

It NEVER ENDS!! I was hoping I’d “outgrow” that too, but it never ends…..I just stopped caring, and do my own thing.
