The FLorida school is called FLVS. www. flvs.net. My daughter is enrolled in a regular high school but takes classes online to supplement her studies. IE if she needs a class but it doesn’t fit in her high school schedule. She has taken PE, health, Algebra II honors and is now in Chemistry Honors, so you can see the virtual school offers a pretty comparable course load. Classes are structured well, teachers are readily available. For the most part, I would say the work load is greater than in a regular classroom, but since really everything is open book, it makes sense that the material would be more difficult. As far as middle school classes, I have seen middle school classes offered there as well. Also, FLVS offers AP classes, if you are interested in that, my daughter is going to take one of those online next year. As far as the cost thing, my daughter’s high school pays for the courses, I would ask your county what their policy is. Good luck!

No, I havent tried any of those but you may be interested in http://www.govhs.org/ if it is available at your school. This is the only virtual high school I have heard about This is available worldwide with teachers from all over the place. I currently take an intergrated mechanics class with a teacher based in MA and its pretty cool (confusing to show work on the computer for math sometimes though)

You can take classes at Florida Virtual School in addition to your regular high school classes. Talk to your counselor as you will need permission to enroll in FLVS.

A co-worker of mine whose son is homeschooling uses Florida Virtual School and they really like it.
