2.5 cm / 100cm *2 cm = 5/100 cm = 0.05cm = 0.5mm
which is way too small to see on a map!
I think the answers that the first lot of people gave you are the correct ones. You may have misinterpreted the question.
so we can say that 2cm on a map is equal to 100cm in real life. Yoy should do a kind of proportion.So, we have
on the map in the real life
2cm 100cm
x 2.5cm
x = (2.5 * 2)/100
x = 5/100
x = 0.05cm
then we have to change it to (mm) or millimeter,
cm mm
1 10
0.05 x
I mean if 1cm equals with 10mm, then 0.05cm equls with how many millimeter:
x = (0.05 * 10)/1
x = 0.5mm
that is 2.5cm in the real life equals with 0.5mm on the map,
From there we can tell that 2.5cm (0.5 x 5) on the map represents 1.25m (0.25 x 5) in real life.
1cm=1/2mile
1/2cm=1/4mile
How many halves are in 2.5? 5
5 x 1/4=1 1/4miles
Thus…
5 half-cm = 1.25m
2.5cm = ?
2cm / 2.5cm * 1m
2 / 2.5 * 1m
0.8 * 1m
1.8m
/ means division
* means multiplication
