I got really bad grades my first semester in college…?

1.5 GPA…yes i know its pathetic. And i desprately want to transfer. Now is it possible to not report my grades from my previous college and act like i dont even have any credits yet and am just going into college in my new college application? or will my new college figure it out if i try that and dismiss me? I really hate the college i’m at now and i feel as though i’d do much better at this new college.

you cannot not disclose your transcripts.. thats against the law.. if they find out i dont think u’ll have a chance to go to any university.. 1.5 that means you probably have D’s and Fails.. i would suggest you retake those classes,, check ratemyprofessor.com get an easy teacher.. get your grades up… of the classes that you already took.. and knowing that you cannot stand that college.. retake those classes get your gpa up and then transfer to another college… cuz again you cannot not disclose your transcripts

good luck:)

Your grade will always stay with you. There is something called “grade forgiveness” (i’m not sure if it is just a Florida thing or if it is nation wide), but you can use it twice and retake the class and change your grade. Talk to your advisor about grade forgiveness and if your college has that, you can retake your 2 lowest classes (especially if it is worth more credits) and bring your GPA up. Community college is also a great place to start. Community colleges have smaller class sizes and are able to assist their students better than a huge university with 500 students smooshed in a lecture hall. Good luck!

I would call and discuss with an Admissions Counselor at your college. I would explain that this current school is not what you were looking for and is not a good fit. Ask if there are any options for transfer and see what they say. Admissions isn’t the narcissist group it’s pegged out to be and most counselors can be somewhat helpful if you give them all of the information. Don’t try to deny that semester because it will be on your record and colleges have ways of finding out that information.

Its ok, the only thing that will follow you is that you have classes that you have credit for. But there is no way for them to figure it out if you don’t tell them.

I got not so great grades my first quarter in, and a few after that but just keep trying. Eventually you’ll get it. It isn’t easy to schedule yourself, and not have anyone yelling at you to do your homework! Time to get on your own case!! lol

the problem is that if you do get caught for some reason you may get kicked out. I would call the school anonomously and talk to a counselor and ask there advice first.
