“When the church split, the southern countries of Europe practiced what religion”?

Spain,and Italy,nowadays Croatia and Slovenia = Catholicism,

Greece= Orthodoxism.

Of course,In those times, there was the Eastern Roman Empire and the Western Roman Empire.

catholocism mainly…but eastern europe was orthodox if i remember right….but i think that came later, so your probably safer putting catholocism.

they still do, like italy and spain are mainly catholic, while germany was were protostantism came from…and england joined them soon later.
