When I correct someone?

Of thier spelling, Why is it that they get offended and report me? All I’m doing is trying to better America. Learn to spell people. Do some crossword puzzles, that’s what I did, and it works to make you a better speller. And makes you well liked.

I corrected your punctuation and grammar. There’s no need to thank me.

They’re offended and reporting you because it makes you sound like you’re better than them. Most people take improvement suggestions as insults because they don’t wanna admit they’re wrong. Another reason why they’re offended and off to report you is maybe because you don’t even answer the question they’re asking. Oh and just so you know, this is the internet and most people take this as an excuse to be a bad speller because it saves up typing time. Everyone has flaws and spelling could be one of them.

PS. Whether you’re liked or not doesn’t depend on your spelling. your personality does. =P You know how nerds spell everything right all the time? Well tell me honestly if they’re well liked or not, no offense to the geniuses =]

Btw, I might add why people should listen to someone who can’t even spell ‘their’ right. I think you should improve YOUR spelling before telling others to?

Hi, I never report people for correcting spelling. BUT people have a right to get mad.

A. It can get annoying.

B. Makes you feel bad about yourself.

C. You might just be spelling it that way for a time saver.

But no one has the right to get mad and report you. It’s just people may perceive it as you thinking your better then them. Just lay off it. It’s ok to correct some people but don’t do it all the time.

In informal communication (like this) spelling is not really a big deal. As long as everyone understands what is being said. At lot of times people are just typing fast and don’t notice their mistakes.

Would you like me to point out the spelling mistakes in your question:

you wrote thier instead of their.
