What i think is a good idea is…

Find out what you are going to be taught in a class beforehand. A day or two before going to class read the chapter(s) and while you read also make a somewhat elaborate summary of what you are reading. I know it may seem time consuming but its worth it.

Then when you go to class, during the lecture, star what the professor emphasizes because it will most likely be on the test. If the professor skips over certain sections they are probably less/not important. Ask the professor if you are not sure.

Also write down important points from the lecture that you are missing in your summaries.

I find using different color pens are very helpful. Only two or three different colors though. Don’t overdo it because then you wont know what color is supposed to represent what. I personally dont like highlighters. But its up to you.

These summaries are very helpful when you have to study for finals that covor the whole semester’s work.

I say ask your parents or teacher to make pre-test with a lot of the same ?’s on the test, then do it. Have you parents or teacher grade it, and the ones you get wrong, study! Or make flash cards if its like a state capitol test. Or another good thing is if you have a book on what your studying, read it! It will probably give you even more info. Or if you dont have one, get one from the library. If its distraction your also worried about, got to the library, and study there. But you should go to the adult section to study, even if your a kid. The kids section at my library ( i dont mind it) but is really noisy. One other thing I sometimes do, is I have a folder for each subject. When ever we get work or homework back, i dont throw it out like everyone else. I keep it in the folder. Then at the end of the unit, I read over it all to study, then I throw it away. You should try at least one of these. (I think!)

I depends on what type of person you are. I am a visual person so when I study I like diagrams, charts, someone who acts it out, reading aloud, or if I am by myself studying I listen to music…not to loud but loud enough. I also take notes during class then when I get home I rewrite them. There are tests online to show what the best way for you to study, just google it.

Set the same time everyday, for instance I used to study when I first got up and before going to bed…

just take really good notes and then write out some other things on notecards and then study the note cards and your notes also re-read the chapter… dont waite untill the last minute study the day you find out about it…
