You can call the police and start an incident jacket on the child/report him for assault. And yes the police do respond. They will then go an talk to the parents and tell them what the consequences will be if this happens again and you want to pursue it. If you child was hurt, call the police and file an assault charge. This will put you in line to recoup doctor and hospital expenses. And, put the child’s parents on notice that their child will be held accountable for their actions. Besides that, go to a school board meeting and demand that the rules be changed to have the punishment reflect the crime. All kids have the right to go to school without fear of being assault. This is what I did when my son was attacked by an older boy. His parents had no idea that their son acted in such a manner because he was well behaved at home.
