What is the best way to absorb what you just read from a textbook?

I always read long text chapters and try by hardest to remember what I just read even though it doesn’t catch my interest ONE BIT. but then i get quized and even though i get some correct, i also get some incorrect, which brings my grade down, especially since the quizes aren’t long and also short answer. what am i doing wrong? i need my grades to go up in that class or else!!!

That happend to me today! I got a c! Here are some notes from teachers:Ways to study:

1.Read it until you understand it.

2.Find if something of it relates to you(it’ll make it interesting)

3.Study every time you get the chance.

I jotted down notes as a I read. Nothing really elaborate. Just to the side of my paragraphs in my textbook. Then right before class, I would read over my notes to jog my memory.

Hope this helps!
