High school freshmen are usually discriminated against for being younger and less experienced. In my school, it is not as bad because we are a close school community. But, I go to a private school. Public school, I believe, will be a little bit more vicious. I’m not telling you this to scare you, I’m telling you because it’s true. If you just keep your head down for a few weeks until you get used to the flow of things, you’ll be fine. Don’t pick fights with upperclassmen, but try not to let them walk all over you at the same time.

As being a freshmen, you might be uncomfortable with the work load at first. But, most teachers will be nice and understanding for a while and may give you a day extension for a homework assignment or drop the lowest quiz grade at the end of the quarter. But, don’t take advantage of this because you didn’t feel like writing a paper or studying. It’s easy to fall into this trap of becoming lazy and its a very had habit to break. And since you’re in high school, you need to watch your grades carefully if you plan on going to college; that failed midterm or final in math could very much cost you a few points on your GPA and ultimately that acceptance letter from your first-choice college.

And, this may seem too far away, but you may want to begin thinking about what type of career you are considering. As a freshman and maybe even a sophomore, you may not have much of a choice as to which classes you can take other than an elective or two. You should do some research on your career and find out what areas of study it requires knowledge of so you can take those classes during high school if they offer them. For instance, engineering requires chemistry, physics, geometry, two years of algebra, etc. If you plan on becoming an actor or a famous football player, pick a back up career, just in case your dreams don’t work out and so you’ll be prepared.

Good luck this year!

Algebra or Geomerry Spanish l or French l (and many others) ADV Social Studies direction (American History) Adv Science direction English l Fine Art Credits (Band is consistently amusing) Physical Ed/Health (If wanted) (If no longer then you’ve a different non-compulsory) Elective (Photographics used to be a excellent elegance) Hope this helped! FYI some of the ADV categories are a whole shaggy dog story so in the event you wish to visit collegeand make yourslelf appear higher. Take ADV Social Studies and ADV Science categories. Also then ADV Math and English categories may also be brutal. Don’t take them except you’re a few wizard at the ones topics. I found out that the difficult manner.

The central learnings in elementary school and middle school were about following the rules. In high school you will learn how to APPEAR to be following the rules, and how to break the rules without getting caught.

These things are essential preparation for further education, for work, marriage and family life, community involvement, and eventually politics.

If you are paying attention, you may also learn the basics of some advanced subjects that will help you decide what, if anything, to be interested in in life. You will note that most of your classmates are not paying attention, and you will learn how to get away with not paying attention. But if you want to, you can put your time in high school to good use, if you don’t mind being called a nerd all the time.

But on the whole, it’s a blast. Go for it.

the greatest thing about highschool from middle school is the freedom and the teachers. In middle school the teachers are all grumpy and you’re treated like a child. in high school your treated more as an adult. ex. saying a cuss word in middle school meant suspension, not in high school. middle school boys will tell their friends to tell you that the want to “go out” with you. High school they’ll just tell you themselves. Girls typically dress alike in highschool, try to avoid that. You’ll find out who your friends are and hopefully you’ll find yourself. Have fun, but make good decisions: pay attention in class and try to at least pretend to like everyone and highschool can be the time of your life. a few things i wish i knew.

Good question… High school will make you or break you, this is a critical time in your life where you have to decide what you want out of life. This is a perfect time to get to know exactly who you are! High school is supposed to be fun and exciting for you. Remember DO NOT USE DRUGS OR ALCOHOL. it’s not worth it… choose your friends wisely and HAVE A BLAST…..Experiment with different subjects Math, Science, whatever you like sports, but remember be real careful with peer pressure…. I have been out of school for some time but I wish I can go back and make wiser decisions trust me in this…You can be what ever you want!!!!

High School is great! You will meet many people and have a lot more responsibility and freedom. A good thing to do is to get involved in a sport, or club. High School is definately harder than middle school, but it is also a lot of fun! I’m sure will make lots of new friends and love it! good luck! : )
