what are the advantages and disadvantages of studying when you are young or mature?
Favorite Answer
Mature students are renowned for their good grades (often credited to their ‘life experience’) but are largely unwelcome and disliked by young students because of their tendency to ask foolish questions in lectures and continually relate study material back to said ‘life experience.’
Young: same as above, but studying is needed for mental stimulation and growth for cognitive understanding and preparedness for the future adulthood. Too much studying for the young creates tiredness/boredom and reading materials that are not age appropriate or topic appropriate.
Older: Studying can be a hobby and the same as in ‘either.’ Older people may not be able to ‘get around’ due to many reasons [$$, health, transportation] , so studying can be beneficial in learning about politics, war, the environment, etc. Studying can further one’s career abilities to another field or just updating current levels of skills.
