Pay as you go. Varies based on credits…its as expensive as going to college in person.

If you are interested in checking out a good on-line degree program other than the commerical programs like Univ of Phoenix, Capella, I encourage you to check out Baker College.

They have a 100% on-line program to match their traditional program at the brick and mortar school.

Yes, you must pay for the courses in advance. Baker is very economcial at $185 per credit hour. Much less than MANY of the other programs. Classes can be 2-. 4- and 6-hours ($370, $740 or $1,110 per class) plus books. You can estimate about $100-150 per class for new books but you can find used books on the web for about 1/3 of the cost of new books.

The classes are fast paced. There are 4 semesters with 2 sessions per semester. The sessions are only 6 week long. So if you are brave enough to carry 2-classes per session, you can clear 16 classes in 1 year.

The classes are not easy. There is a good deal of work required to pass. You must participate at least 5 of 7 days but it is on your schedule. Assignments can be due from 2 to 5 days per week. It is like reading e-mails and blogs.

The transcript and degree from the on-line program looks the same as the transcript and degree from the traditional brick and mortar college.

Check out www.baker.edu for more details.
