Should I Drop Out Of Highschool and return to Alternative Education? (meaning i’ll still earn credits)?

i’m 16

i havent been to traditional school for about 2 years..until now

last year i havent been attending traditional school…instead i have been taking online courses, where i just stay at home

with that my marks are the highest i got ever in highschool , when i go to traditional school my marks were low , like 50-60%

but on online-courses i got 80% avg.

and i find that i learn better and more

the only bad thing about online courses is that theres no social contact, but this year i registered for night school so that solves the problem of being lonely

so should i drop out of traditional school, i hava hard time trying to learn there plus i am already having bad attendance (like always)

I vote for Alternative Education. I wish it would have been an option when and where I attended school. The important thing is for you to learn the best way you can.

The daughter of a friend of mine went the same route you are considering and her grades soared. She went on to get a Master’s Degree in Finance. She said she would never have accomplished all that she has without going the Alternative route.

Go for it and good luck.

Dude!! With a name like “so what” it’s already obvious to me that you are in serious trouble. Your future already looks bad. The fact is you are trying to create this fantasy future about climbing out of the pit that you jumped into when the truth of the matter is you are below zero. Everyone from now on will just suck on your blood making you think you are going somewhere and especially on line courses that can tell you anything because they are not monitored by anyone.

Forget it!

You are a unique individual that has a problem with conformance and so you need to have specialized education. In real life someone may be a dropout but in fact have the IQ of a PHD.

You are not stupid but in fact find life to be very boring. You want more out of life and expect more from an educational system that caters to cookie cutter graduation ceremonies that turn out idiot after idiot after idiot. The public school system is a joke. Why do you think rich people send their kid to private schools? Most likely because they don’t want their kids to have a hamburger career. You are so lucky to even realize that you are beyond that world.

The bottom line for you is to realize what you are really capable of and pursue that field of education so you will become the professional that you are.

I think you should stay in traditional high school. Just because you were making better grades online, doesn’t mean you’re learning more. It could mean that their courses are dumber. You need real feedback from real people. You also need to social skills so you can become a normal human in society. You’ll have to go out into the workplace and get a job someday and if you have no social skills, that could hurt you.

Maybe you can get a tutor to help you catch up with the other kids. You probably need it.

Look dude, I’m 17 and been homeschooled for a year now and it’s like this. It’s all about your high school grades. If your grades suck you can’t get into a good college unless you want to dish out MEGA bucks (if you plan on going to college). If you don’t, you still have to worry about passing with a 50-60%. As for social contact, get a job. Guaranteed there will be people your age working wherever you get a job whom you will become friends with and eventually be hanging out with them.
