Should I change my honors class for a regular class?
Ive been placed in Honors English, but to be qualified you have to read the book the school assigns to you. I DIDNT READ THE BOOK THOUGH. Most of the students there have read and finished the book. However, Ive been recommended to Honors by my teacher in middle school. Should I still change it?

NO don’t do that. I found myself in the same situation a few weeks ago. in my 10th grade year my teacher recommended me to AP classes so i signed up and on the first day i had the class this year everyone had to do a summer reading with an essay. I couldn’t have know about the required summer assignment because no one informed me that to get into the class i had to do summer work. I talked to the teacher and he let me do it because no one told me. So you couldn’t have known if you weren’t informed. Make up the work and move on in the class. This is just a little set back.
And don’t let anyone on here tell you that you are not good for this class because of a mishap like this.

Did you know about the book ahead of time and choose not to read it? If so, that may indicate that you aren’t ready to put all of the necessary effort into that class.
If you didn’t know about the book ahead of time, I would be honest and let the teacher know of your predicament.
When a teacher recommends a student for an honors course, it usually means that he/she feels that the student is suited for the challenges presented in that class.

DON’T CHANGE…
Talk to the teacher and see if you can do anything to make up the reading assignment, or if you could have more time. Honors classes look great on your transcript and they help boost your GPA.

Why don’t you just read it now, or just use spark notes and pretend like you read it, i’m sure they wouldn’t put you into the honors class if you definetly had to read the book, i say do what i said and stay in honors it gives you credits.

If you didn’t read the book that you were assigned, you obviously aren’t responsible enough to BE in honors.

dont change it, you have a gift . you can pass this class if u try. apparently ur not try hard enough.
