(Rivals among people)
Sometimes having a rival is good because it makes you more detemined in something you do. For example when you have a rival, you don’t want to be beaten right? So you do your best to surpass him and show him you’re better.
You even do your best more than you usually do.
Just like in School, love or work.. =P
Just think of how boring it is if you have no rival.
For example, in studies. If you have no one interesting to compete with, there’s nothing worth the effort for being serious in studying.
