As long as they do know how to spell, use proper grammar, et cetera, shortcuts aren’t going to affect your child’s English skills.

I laugh at your question. I have very good spelling. I even use my spelling on the internet. The keyboard makes it easy enough to make words. No need to take shortcuts. I do believe it can lead to bad spelling. Lazy uneducated people take typing shortcuts.
