I have a student who insists on not leaving a blank space, anywhere! He draws on his notebooks, Algebra workbook, assignments…no space is left unturned! It is a little invasive, to me. I do not care to stifle his creativity and I appreciate his artistic genius. However, it has become a distraction and a bit of an eye sore in my classroom. I would love to find a decent and solution-focused way to resolve this. I have thought about buying him a sketch book and setting limits. Will this help or will his artisitc creativity refuse boundaries? I do not care to use means such as detention or sending him to the assistant principal. We have tried a heart to heart…it worked for about a week.
