Each college professor has his or her own grading system. Some are hard, some easy, some concentrate on detail, some on concept, some on application. Your job as a student is to figure out how each professor grades in each class within the first few weeks – of course you can always ask students who had that prof last semester.

College grading is generally looking for a higher level of student performance than high school, so yes, U of T is probably harder than you are used to, and at any Uni it is tough to get a 4.0.
