no- that is the flag before the current flag of GA

that flag replaced a flag which included a Confederate Battle flag design (otherwise known as a rebel flag or a southern cross)

that flag is this – http://www.camdencounty.org/history/ga-flag-1956-2001.jpg

the Confederate battle flag design is offensive to some people that see it as a racist symbol (which in truth if one looks deeply it is not) rather than a symbol of the heritage and history of Georgia

the Confederate symbol is being banned in some places because of its apparent offensiveness and they couldent really ban this symbol if it was still a part of the state flag

the flag you show us is the flag that replaced that other flag and that fwas supposed to be a ‘happy medium’ because it included very small versions if previous state flags to indicate the southern heritage in a rather more small form – together with adding flags onf he USA to it

but in truth this is a rather hideous flag – whe flying up on a pole one cant really see those small flags

people were not happy with the small representations of the Confederate flag and wanted the old flag back again

the refused to – instwad they came up with a new flag – this –

http://americancivilwar.com/statepic/ga/ga_state_flag_2003.jpg

now this flag is apparently less offensive

lets compare it to the origional Confederate flag – with 13 stars not 7

how is the new Georgia state flag any less offensive to the one that is most popular and what most Georgians who ive spoken to want to fly again?

it is beasically the origional Confederate flag with an emblem the middle of it

they made a Confederate battle flag because during battle the origional Confederate flag looked too much like the Stars and Stripes (imagine a very dusty / misty atmosphere and flags that are furled laid against their poles)

in my opinion they may aswell just go back to using the old GA state flag that my friends are flying anyway regardless of the changes!!

No, the current flag may be found here. The one you have posted stopped flying in 2003.
