Favorite Answer
Terman’s classification was (6):
IQ Range Classification
140 and over Genius or near genius
120-140 Very superior intelligence
110-120 Superior intelligence
90-110 Normal or average intelligence
80-90 Dullness
70-80 Borderline deficiency
Below 70 Definite feeble-mindedness
(Has to be the twin, grumble mumble…LOL, I’m way over that!) However after reading and hearing so much about how the tests are/were slanted only to a portion of our population, and as far as I know followed the ole Bell curve or some kind of comparison test for results, I tossed that baby out with the bath water.
If an I.Q. of 117 makes you feel self-confident at 16 yrs., and I don’t see why it shouldn’t… go for it! 117 sounds quite decent to me, especially since “they” may have made the tests a whole new ball game.
If you are answering questions on this site as well as asking, you’re doing okay! Though I guess it’s time for school. You’ll be fine. “Just build it and they will come”…(I’m trying to quote a movie I haven’t seen in years), trying to tell you to build self-confidence by liking what you do, + seeing it as honorable… and you’ll have friends among teachers and students alike.
130+ Very superior 2.2%
120-129 Superior 6.7%
110-119 High average 16.1%
90-109 Average 50%
80-89 Low average 16.1%
70-79 Borderline 6.7%
Below 70 Extremely low 2.2%
so i guess your high average 🙂
Your question also indicaed that you are curious and put more wirght on an IQ score than it deserves. Inellegence is defined as the ability to learn from and adjust to new situations.
Relax and you will do better.
