If I mail a letter to someone’s home address, and it turns out being that their maling address is a PO Box….

will she receive her letter at the post office then even though the letter is addressed with home address on it? Or will the letter get returned to me if I don’t have the PO Box # on it?

If you send mail to a home address that is where it goes. People can have as many mailing addresses as they wish. There is no default one. Mail goes to where you send it unless a change of address is in effect.

It is rare but there can be an address that does not receive mail. In that case the letter will be returned. Mail can be stopped if there is a vicious dog or the person does not have a mailbox in the right place.

If a letter has BOTH an address and a p.o. box then it goes to the p.o. box.
