Wow, the punctuation suggests enthusiasm.

But what are you enthusiastic about? The field of IT, or the money?

I can tell you, if you’re in it for the money, you’ll probably be miserable. A rewarding career involves a job that you don’t mind going to everyday.

But if you really want to study IT, it can be done at any technical college.

Some people go to a four year school and study something specific (programming, math, engineering…). I have a friend who has his BS in programming languages. He is successful, has worked as an independent contractor, and with various companies. Right now, he programs billing code for hospitals.

Some people go to a two year school and study a narrower field (IT security, network administration, etc). I have a friend who got an AS in Science, and then went to various classes to study network administration, got certified MCSE, and now works as a network engineer at a casino.

Both paths worked for these guys. Do they looooove it? No. But it does pay the bills just fine. Neither one makes 100k a year. You won’t start off making that. Be happy to have a job…the economy is in a big slump right now!
