First off if your in high school still, thats where it all starts. Take classes there before going to the advanced computer classes. If you want to be a technican then you will defently need A+ class, and then after the class you will need to take a exspensive test. If you pass the test your then qualified to be a IT technican, but will have to take more based on your job.

If you want to be a programmer or create thing within the computer then you will need to learn differnt languages of code. Java, windows, etc… Its a major pain trust me, just boring as hell.

100,000 a year only goes to the more advanced technicans. Yea you have degrees and test scores, but what really counts is experience. So for a few years you will be making around 60k to 80k a year based on where you work then once you get more experience the better jobs come along. (Circuitcity and other electronic companies are good starts)

How long you go to school depends on how fast you learn things. If you know more than you will excel faster and be able to take the test before others. If you didnt take classes in high school your looking at at least 3 years of college to learn it all.

Also dont focus on just one class like A+ take several classes, networking, coding, programming, etc… just to see the differnt fields and then choose what you like. They all pay very well so dont worry about that.

For now just focus on A+ though, thats the one certification all computer employers look for. The test isnt hard if you take the class but it is exspensive. However passin it adds like 30k to your annual salary.

Unrealistic.

A. Computer tech’s don’t make crap until they have years of experience. To hit 100K annually in the geek world, you must be either a master coder or a CTO (chief technical officer).

B. Devry and SJSU both off classes for Computer Science, although Devry has more of the computer tech style.

C. If this is really your passion, you should know tons already, as you can read so much on wikipedia and the internet.

D. realistically, you don’t even need to blow 20+K and 2 + years on college, as you could get an entry level job in the field and work your way up.
