Don’t be scared! You’re in an entire freshman class who has no idea where to go. I’m sure there will be teachers all around the school who will help you find where you are going. If you have your schedule, that should have the numbers of the classrooms you need to go to on it, and the room numbers should be by the doors. The first day isn’t that bad, it just a matter of finding where you are supposed to be. I’m sure you’ll have friends in a lot of your classes, and you’re going to meet a lot of new people too! If you start to planic, just take deep breaths, look around to see if you recognize something or someone, and ask if you have any questions!

Hope this helps!

It’s not as bad as you think it will be. I’m going to be a junior this year, and every year it gets easier. Tomorrow just stick with someone you know, learn your way around the school, and you’ll be fine! Some ice cream tonight might help(: Eat some breakfast in the morning because a day at high school on an empty stomach is no fun. You’ll be perfectly fine, stop worrying!

This can be baffling experience for ninth graders, and The National High School Center wants to help districts by offering tools to aid students with the transition. A series of free, research-based reports are avail¬able on the NHSC’s Web site in which school district or state education officials can gain ideas. Joseph Harris, the director of the NHSC at the American Institutes for Research said, “Ninth grade is a critical make-it-or-break-it year for many students, and we wanted to highlight some of the best practices that are backed by research … to ensure that entering high school students are well-supported.” One report says up to 40 percent of students be¬come detached in the ninth grade, and they don’t get promoted on time. To eliminate this, the report names a few target areas that district and school officials should look out for, such as “establishing a data-monitoring sys¬tem to diagnose why students are struggling.” “In today’s globally competitive world, it is more impor¬tant than ever for students to master rigorous coursework, graduation requirements, and graduation exams so they can make successful post-secondary transitions,” Harris said.

I got this from a site and if you understand it, great! If not, my advice is to know tat its everyone else in your grades first day too. Just be nice to everyone and make sure you have a positive attitude in all your classes. If you have old friends in a class, sit next to them. If not, thats good too. An opportunity to make new friends. I know this sounds chessey, but you’ll see it really works!

Sleep at a reasonable time, eat at least 2hrs before bed, set your alarm clock early so you have time for a healthy breakfast, props, prepare clothing and school bag night before, and on THE morning, TAKE A DEEP BREATH and smile confidently. Hope for the best, expect the worst. You’re not the ONLY one starting that day and staff will be helpful and understanding. Wear clothing you are most comfortable in and that you’re confident in, try to socialise with the OTHER one who looks as lost as you are.

The only advice I can give you is to stay calm and remember that everyone else is in the same boat! You won’t be the only one asking for help to get in their locker. Also, if you can’t find your classes, just ask someone. That is what I did and everyone seemed happy to help. Tell me how it went! ;>) .

Just know there will be so many other kids in the same exact situation as you, and are just as nervous as you are. No ones out to hurt you, everyone is a freshman at one point! I think once you get there you’ll be fine, and wonder why you were so nervous. Good luck and have fun! 🙂
