I feel lost….?

I don’t know what career I want to have when I get older. It seems like everyone around me is into a lot of different extracurricular activities, but my family can’t afford to put me in any, and I feel like I am not being exposed to enough things.

I know I still have a lot of time to decide (I am 13 now), but I wish I already KNEW so I could get started preparing myself for it.

And I could decide which college is best for me.

Aren’t there quizzes you can take online that give you an idea or what would be a good job for you?

I’m not going to be the best qualified to answer your question, but you’re going to be a Freshman, right?

If you haven’t been in High School yet, there will probably be lots of e.c. activities that cost about $10 to $20 to get into. Just raise money somehow by doing favors for neighbors, etc.

I’d suggest getting into a Volunteer group at your school or community, so you’ll feel more relied upon and so you’ll feel like you have more of a purpose while you’re making this hard journey about deciding what you wanna do for the rest of your life.

Narrow it down. Do you like science, math, what about english? If you don’t like science, you can knock out thousands of jobs right there.

Just with that, your miles ahead of your crowd at your age.

Make a new e-mail address because they’ll send you loads of mail. Apply at www.fastweb.com. It doesn’t cost a thing. You have to be at least a Junior or Senior to submit essays to colleges for scholarships, but I’d suggest writing practice essays that the colleges you’re considering going to are giving out. Once you’ve finished, give some to your English teacher to see what can be improved upon, etc.

This’ll give you a headstart and a sense of stability I guess because you won’t fear the unknown as much.

This isn’t going to make you fearless about the future. I’m a Junior in High School. I know I want a career in the art field. I’ve narrowed where I want to go to college to 5 universities.

But what if I don’t get a scholarship?

But what if I can’t afford it?

But what if I can’t handle it?

But what if I’m a loner?

But what if I don’t fit in?

But what if I’m in debt the rest of my life?

But what if I become a poor, bum?

All these questions pop into my head, and I’m fairly prepared. I feel lost more than ever right now. I’ve never had a real girlfriend, I’m scared I’ll end up alone, I don’t know if I’m a good enough artist to make it in the professional world, I’m scared of living on my own with all the violence… I probably passed up the one opportunity I had for true love because I was too scared after what I’d been through before.

Everyone feels lost at some point in their life. I’ve heard 3 pieces of advice that’ll help you through life through a person real close to me, well fairly close.

Talk it out.

Pray.

Worship.

Think about the present, that’s the only thing you can change, till they build a time machine to go back to 7,000 b.c. lol. Just focus on the present and you’ll be fine. I promise. 🙂

hope it helps.

I think you should relax. All through junior and high school I was very good in art classes and assumed that I would have a career that was in the art field. When I got to college I hated my art classes (except for history) and raced to drop them. I ended up adding an Intro to Sociology class because it still had open spots. It took me about one week to realize that I had found my true field, and I had a good career because of my sociology degree. Take a variety of classes while you’re still in high school and then leave your options open when you enter college. You could also do volunteer work in fields that you find interesting. (Any expenses you have from volunteering could even be tax deductible for your family.) You never know where it will lead you.

I wouldn’t stress yet. You’re only 13, extracurriculars in middle school do not count for college.

You’re still young, and you have quite a few years to figure out what you want to be. When I was 13 I wanted to be a doctor, and now I’m a junior and college majoring in Microbiology. Your aspirations will change throughout the years!

As you get older, you’ll realize about yourself more. So don’t stress out and enjoy your current life. I don’t think all the extracirricular activities in school cost money. So get involved and have fun =).

the EXACT same thing happens to me rite now. im 14. i feel like i’m talentless, seriously, i can’t sing, i can’t paint, i’m not good at sports and all…

but everyone around me keeps on telling me that things will change later, we may not find what we can do rite now, but things will change when we grow up.

but it still doesn’t change the fact that i can’t do anything right…

just keep trying, i’m sure u’ll find sumthing u’re good at…

and i’ll keep trying too, i guess…

good luck!

If you’re from the Philippines, try your best shot at the NCAE on your fourth year.

If not, choose your passion.

Hope this helps~
