Non weighted classes:

A: 4.0

A-:3.67

B+: 3.33

B:3

B-:2.67

C+:2.33

C:2

C-:1.67

D+1.33

D:1

D-:0.67

F: 0

take each grade and add up the corresponding number above (if the class is weighted (i.e. it is an advanced course, add 1 point to each class, meaning the scale starts at 5 and works its way down) now take the whole sum of all that and divide it by the total number of classes. Presto.

Hi!

Calculating your GPA can be quite simple.

If your school district uses the 4 point grading system, an A in a semester of a course is worth 4 points. A B would then be worth 3 points, a C 2 points, and so forth. Depending on your school district, an A- or A+ may differ from an actual A itself. My school district doesn’t. Also, depending on the college you apply for, the college may reconfigure your grades to meet their standards. Some colleges also add extra points if you take an AP course, to make up for the extra difficulty.

To find your overall GPA, you would add up all the point values for all the classes you have gained credit for and divide it by the number of classes you have taken. Note that an entire year of class would have two point values, because the GPA counts credits based on a semester-based method, and there are two semesters per year.

For example, if you have 6 A’s and 6 B’s at the end of your freshmen year, you would have a GPA of 3.5.

A=4 pts.

B=3 pts.

C=2 pts.

D=1 pt.

for +’s and -‘s its just whatever it is and .5

add them up and divide by 6, or however many classes you have.
