In general electronics are not harmed by being exposed to moisture as long as they are allowed too dry out before applying current too them. I recommend that you remove the battery and allow the device to dry out at room temp for at least 24 hours. Do not energize it until it has completely dried out.

throw it in a fire place, spray a lot of lighter fluid all over it, light a match, throw the match onto your cell phone, watch it burn away all that water residue with relative ease.
