How do I find out if I really want to become a doctor? Programs?

I’m gonna be a junior in high school soon and I want to figure out what field I’m really interested in. Right now, my attention is directed towards the career path of a doctor (internist looks good). The medical field is fascinating to me and I understand that it is also one of the hardest yet most auspicious fields. Personally, doctors still scare the crap out of me during checkups, but I’ve always had a deep respect for and interest in what they do. I’ve been doing some heavy reading on the various types of doctors and what each of their job requires, but I don’t want to base a decision on just what I read. Does anyone know any programs or such for students interested in gaining more insight into the daily responsibilities of doctors/nurses/etc? I’ve heard of an afterschool program where students are taken to a hospital to observe various members of the staff perform their duties, but I don’t even know the name of the program. I live in Los Angeles if that’s any help.

Well first you need to buy yourself about 300 of the most difficult to read books and lock our self in a tiny room with only bread and water and one samll lamp. Stay awake for 72 hours straight reading them all as fast as you can. After the 72 hours then go volenteer at a soup kitchen and serve about 500 angry customers then go volenteer at as a janitor for the local sweage department. go home and get about 2 hours slep and try it again.

Multiply this exercise by ten years and if you think you can handle it then yes becoming a doctor is for you

First, research the program you were talking about. Ask people in school if they know what the program is called, and if you can’t find out, go to a local hospital and see if any of the staff would be willing to tell you anything about having a medical career. That way, you won’t be judging practices in medicine just by what you read. There are some websites (though I don’t know what they’re called) that can tell you about the different types of doctors that there are and how much money you would make for each job.

Also, another thing you could do is you could volunteer at your local hospital and have an idea of what it would be like to be a doctor.

volunteer at a hospital and see if that excites you are not, sorry i only read the question

to make people want to read the whole paragraph, break it up in spaces

like three lines here, then two lines, then four lines, make it more than one paragraph, but make it short

like this, i made four short ones, instead of one long one

OK WELL I FELT GUILTY AND ACTUALLY DECIDED TO READ IT ALL, why don’t you search the keywords you just added “afterschool program, hospital to observe , doctor Programs”
