How come the way you listen to yourself talk is different from what other people hears it?

if you hear yourself..its sounds differerent from how others hear it..like if you record yourself its different too..!

It’s difficult to hear one’s own voice accurately. When you speak, you also hear your voice *through* your body in a physical sense, because your vocal cords are in your throat. So vibrations travel through your head — which includes your bony skull — and hence, it sounds a bit different to you.

Other people just hear your voice through the air, so the modifications to the vibrations are different.

I have no idea why, but it has always been something that I wondered about too. Over the years, I’ve gotten used to the way I sound on a tape….but it still doesn’t sound like the me that I hear in my head/ears…..
