How can I improve my handwriting for free? I’m very open to ideas!?

Whenever I write an essay in school, I seem to vary my handwriting. I’m always trying to find a handwriting that I’m OK with. My natural handwriting is legible, but barely. Does anyone know of any websites that give you printable practice sheets for free? And I’m not talking about the average alphabet that you learn in kindergarten, but I want something that is recognizable, something that is unique, and also mature. I’m a 13 year old girl and I notice alot of girls writing in bubbly girly letters, but I want something that I won’t be ashamed of when I’m an adult. Please help! It’s driving me crazy! It doesn’t matter whether it’s print or cursive.

Generally each person’s unique handwriting comes about by simply practicing — years of writing based on the initial “How To” taught in early school years, until the subtle variations over time become unique markers and habits and finally your own style.

The best thing to do, as with any other skill you want to improve, would be to practice. Pay attention to what you’re doing. Slow down (the most common reason for illegibility: rushing!) Notice what you don’t like and try to stop doing it; and repeat what you do like. Repeat until what you want becomes habitual.

You could practice on your essays: just allow an extra 30 minutes to write, so you’re not tempted to rush. Or keep a journal or write stories or letters, so you have something more interesting to write than simply forming letters (it’s very easy to blow off boring practice!)

here is how to make it look better

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Steps

1

Step One

Find an example of handwriting you like and might want to imitate. This will give you a goal.

2

Step Two

Buy some lined paper in a rule you’re comfortable with, whether that’s wide-, college- or narrow-ruled.

3

Step Three

Choose a pen or pencil you like using. Keep in mind that this writing instrument doesn’t have to be a Mont Blanc to be the right one for you.

4

Step Four

Realize that practicing and perfecting will be an ongoing process. To truly improve your handwriting, you must work on it enough that the improvements become natural behavior.

5

Step Five

Develop a test sentence for yourself and write it at the top of your first practice page. At the beginning of each new week, write this sentence at the top of a new page to help you gauge your progress.

6

Step Six

Begin with individual letters and practice writing at least one letter per day, incorporating the improvements that will help you reach your goal. Concentrate on overall letter formation, the size of ascenders and descenders, the slant of each letter, and beginning and ending strokes.

7

Step Seven

Move on to complete words once you’ve made it all the way through the alphabet. Pay attention to character spacing, the way your letters flow from one into the next, and the spacing you place between words.

8

Step Eight

Practice, practice, practice until your handwriting looks the way you want it to.

Tips & Warnings

* Utilize downtime during boring meetings, seminars, lectures, doctor’s office visits and so on to practice your handwriting. This will be far more useful in the long run than your usual doodles.

The best thing to do is to write a lot. A whole lot. Write a journal about anything (daily life, goals, activities you want to do) and just try to write clean and legible. In a year you won’t believe how much better your handwriting looks. In 5 years people will envy you for your handwriting.

If you want to find something online search the subject on Google .

Otherwise just get a notebook and practice your handwriting.

I have the same problem as you

But I just go to the library and find those books that have hand written words in them and copy them over and over again. It improved my handwriting.
