How can High Schools better prepare their senior students to get a job.?

Most seniors don’t have a clue how to look for a job. They graduate school and do not know what to do. They should be looking for work and have a promise of a job before they graduate high school if they are not going to college. Our schools fail the students this way. What do you think ?

At my HS they do this thing called Eagle Ed. Which is 25 minutes a day (used to be advisory) where they teach us lessons that are supposed to better prepare us for college or the working world. I don’t know too many details yet because it just started but if you want to emil me I’ll keep you posted on progress. It is a good idea in theory though.

Schools should be willing to set up courses in resume writing and job searching. They should also be willing to help set up internships for interested students. However, it is not the school’s responsibility to assure that it’s students have a job post-graduation if their students aren’t motivated. Students, by the time they graduate high school if they aren’t going to college, should already have experience in the field in which they want to spend the rest of their life in. If a person isn’t motivated, the school can’t help them, and if they are motivated, they’ll take advantage of their resources and figure it out on their own.

The purpose of education is to prepare you for life.

Most teachers do not have any other work experience.

Your parents should be helping you in this area.

What about part-time or summer jobs while in school?
