How am I ever supposed to figure out what I want to do for a living? Everything I like seems to be a dead end

Know, too, that many schools/colleges recommend you fill this out in the spring before you register for classes in the fall.
(Contact your school to find out for sure when the deadline would be.) Also know that it’s a bear to fill out the first time. Make sure you have your tax information from the previous year handy while you fill it out. You will definitely need it.
Back to the subject of what you should go to school for… Really, that kind of has to be up to you, but I can suggest this to you. Follow your heart. If you have a passion for something, go with it. If nothing else, go to your nearest community college and get your feet wet by taking your liberal arts classes (Englishes, maths, history, etc.) and see how you like the school. Many times these community college courses are transferrable to local universities where you can get a 4 year degree.
There are tons of options for research with marine biology. There’s good money in it, too. Have you thought about biotechnology? It’s a lot of lab work, but you could get a 2 year degree and work sooner than later and still make very good money.
I know I didn’t answer your question specifically.. I kinda went out on a limb with other information. I just wanted to say you can get started with a school and find out what you really want to do as you go.
I wish you luck!!
If you like something, it isn’t a dead end at all!
You can always grow your idea.
Turn it into your own business.
Add your own style your job.
Do anything you want with you life, and make it a success.
Nothing you ever do is a dead end.
Until you choose to stop it.
