help in IELTS?

i’m preparing myself for ielts exam. i’ve a great difficulty in reading, how can i improve my reading,

are there any sources on the net which can improve my reading

are there any source on the net to improve my pronunciation and British accent

Well, there’s tonns of materials online, but don’t try too hard with everything. IELTS reading test is all about three things:

– reading fast (regardless of the text, you don’t need to understand all the words, just the gist);

– staying focused throughout the 60 minutes;

– making sure you know exactly what the question is (sometimes they are written in a way which is deliberately confusing).

Most texts have nothing to do with real life and are not something you would read in a magazine or a newspaper. It’s always typical IELTS bull with lots of stuff to confuse an under-average reader. So, stay focused, try to get the gist and you should be fine. The biggest problem for most is that these texts are too long to be read within the given period of time, so try practicing by reading long articles like that, for instance on: beekeping, transportation in the 19th century, bicycle development through history and such crap. 🙂 Good luck!
