~~~For people who have been in 10th grade?~~~?
I will be in 10th grade in 3 days and I feel kinda not myself (on the outside) and I feel like I don’t have a best friend and I don’t know what I’m going to do with the rest of my life. I’m the youngest and feel like all my older siblings have found their talents and stuff…I’ve never even had a boyfriend either. In 10th grade were you different than you are now? Did you know what you would do with your life? Advice?
In 10th grade I…
-Didn’t have a best friend at school anymore (he moved).
-Didn’t have any other friends or a group
-Didn’t know what I was going to do with my life.
-Didn’t know what professionally-oriented talents I had.
-Didn’t know where I would go to college
-Hadn’t ever had a girlfriend
10th grade was a strange, weird, and (not to scare you) kind of unenjoyable year for me. Within a year or two though, I had resolved almost all of those issues. Things will piece themselves together… maybe before you know it.
Now I’m almost done with graduate school and going to be a child psychotherapist. I changed my major at least a half-dozen times. I partied. I made new friends. I dated lots of people. I found my rhythym. You will do the same I’m sure. Just gotta stick through the weird times first.
I will be a junior this year and I still don’t know what I want to do. People change their minds once they get into college too so don’t feel slow or anything. I think 10th grade was the hardest year of my life but that was only because of my home problems. I think that 10th grade is when you start to seperate yourself from everyone and try to become YOU and not just one of the crowd! I wouldn’t worry about boyfriends or what not because they will happen eventually! Just enjoy the time you can have in high school because it flies by! 10th grade is really the last year you have before you really need to worry about college and getting a job and paying bills [car insurance, gas, and what not]! Enjoy it while you can!
Best of Luck!
I just got out of the tenth grade and an going into my junior year so I know how you feel. it’s notmal to feel like you’re alone, but don’t worry! In your first classes you’ll see people you know and meet new classmates and get back into the swing of things! And don’t worry, you shouldn’t have to know what you want to do with the rest of your life in 10th grade. Just pick some electives that you like and you might find something to stick with for a while or forever. Have fun, it’s high school!
Very different now than I was at 10. I knew what I wanted to do by the end of elementary school, however, everyone doesn’t operate like that. You will find something that you enjoy doing eventually. You don’t have to declare a major in college until your sophomore year so you have some time to think about it.
I didn’t have a boyfriend all throughout high school, by choice. I wanted to get done with school and didn’t want to be distracted.
My advice to you is find something that you love to do and find out what it takes to be whatever it is that you want to do. Attend a career fair at a nearby community college and speak to some of the reps., they may be able to help you find out what you want to do. Or speak to your guidance counselor he/she is trained to guide you to help you find your potential…Hope this helps.
Good Luck! =)
