It depends. Some public schools are the best in the nation, and some private schools, well, let’s just say that parents only send their kids there because of the uniforms….

Before sending a kid to any school, public or private, the parent must weigh their options. Does the school have a program or activity tailored for their kid? Are there criminal problems at this school? Can you afford the tuition/gas mileage/time of this school? Public or private don’t really catch the scope of the thing.

For me, studying in Public School is better. It reminds to the mind of student how they value the education given to them if they are studying in Public Schools. And students from Public Schools is the key for promoting “Nationalism” unlike the students who graduate from Private Schools who only think for they own sake and promoting “Capitalism.” I know it because I study already at Private School and now studying at the Public State University here in the Philippines. I am proud to say that I am a product of Government Educational Institution.

Soon all Private Schools here in the Philippines will be demolished and the only Schools that will exist are the Government Educational Institutions. Except for the Institutions that became part of the History like UST, DLSU, Ateneo and others that established on the age of our National Hero.

Receiving an education in today’s school systems is relative to the enviornment provided in which to learn.

My children have attended home school, private, and public schools. A small private school in which they are part of a nucleus is essential to their sucess and ability to learn.

It has been my experience that children in public schools learn emotional and physical survial skills first and foremost, and what ever energy is left will be given over to learning. For my kids this was minimal as psycho-stressors at the elementary level was monumental.

They are doing much, much better academically in a smaller, private school setting.

All of my children are adopted.

Something you should keep in mind when comparing public and private schools is that the public school has to take everyone, private schools can choose who will attend so when you compare test score numbers they are inflated on the private side since they kick out anyone who scores low.

That said, it depends on the neighborhood on whether the public schools are as good as the private ones. Rich neighborhood equals good schools, poor neighborhood equals bad schools. Money buys better teachers and better equipment.

Depends on the public school.

I have gone to public schools my whole life, but that’s because they are some of the highest rated public schools in the USA, and it would be ridiculous for me to pay money to a private school for the same education I could get at my public school.

Many parents choose to have their kids go to private schools if their neighborhood school is dangerous, or doesn’t have good teachers/enough money.

If public schools near you are satisfactory, why pay for the private school?

A child’s education is totally dependent on the teacher he has at the time. There are fine teachers in every setting from the poorest to the wealthiest school systems and private schools do not automatically get one for every classroom.

I’m sure it depends on the school, but generally speaking I think private schools are better. My main reason is that they have fewer students relative to teachers. That equates to more attention, less discipline distractions, more freedom, more supplies, trips, opportunities to ask questions, etc.

I know there are exceptions, and I know some fine teachers who work in public schools, but they are overcrowded and overburdened with things that interfere with teaching and learning.

i do. and also it depends on the school and the kids behavior.

if the school has a really advanced ciriculum and a good discipline system its would probably be better than a public school which has to preform under the states standards. As for the behavior, it depends if the kid wants to learn or just fool around.
