Do you know what you want to do when you grow up (teens only 16-18)?

I can’t decide. The military, law, psychology, martial arts, filmmaking, philosophy, music……………………….. I am in tae kwon do, I play guitar, I read philosophy and psychology, and I watch movies a lot, I love justice and consider the military. Tell me about u and any advice for me!

OK buddy – since I am older I guess this answer wont count – however you are not going to get good advice from people in this age bracket since they are trying to figure the same thing out for themselves – so I will give you some details and you can do with it what you want

Military – this is a great place for anyone who want sor needs to learn discipline – it is a structured environment where you are told what to do when – you are not allowed to think beyond the task at hand because the task at hand is always th emost important thing to the military – you will get chances to travel and have a lot o ffun visiting and learning about other cultures – during war time you take the chance of NOT coming home – for me – I beg you to stay away from the military – you apparently have your head on straight, a little smarter then most, already have th ediscipline stuff down pat – I see no advantage to the military for you

Psychology – unless you want to listen to eveyrone elses problems and NOT provide them any solutions this is not the place for you – while I think you would make an excellent psychologist, i just dont think you will be happy doing it – you are a hands on person and psychology requires you to be hands off

Martial Arts – now here is a good option – if you can get the capital toopen a dojo this might well be a good thing for you – you enjoy the martial arts and doing something you enjoy will make you that much more effective at your job

Law – Hmmmmm – this might not be a bad profession for you either – the superior intellect can garner ways to present cases that no one ever thought of – I can see you being very successful at this profession

Filmmaking – sorry buddy – this one I am lmited on to just the animation stuff I have done on the computer – from what I see it looks pretty difficult – if you want a challenge this might not be too bad a venue for you to persue

Philosophy – LOL – dont bother with this field – not that its bad or anything lke that – but this is a natural for you – its of no consequence or challenge to you as you do this constantly already – the best you can get out of this is a position where you get to take imature thinkers and open thier eyes to the world around them by showng the truth in what they see

Music – my kids love music – they all had dreams of being singers, dancers etc – eventually they gave those dreams up – they still love to play their instruments, sing and dance – but they dont look for it to make them any real money – you will have to decide if you love this field enough to make it your future

If these were the only choices you had and you had to make the decision today, based on your intellect, I would tell you to go for law. Why? Because it will be the only thing in the list that will give your mind challenge and allow you to use your creativity at the same time.

Good luck my friend – regardless of what you choose – I hope it is something that will make you happy.

You are obviously not a people person. You would rather study them than know them.

My best bet for you is to become a minister. This way you can be a musician, use your philosophy, and Tae Kwon do Spirituality, Teach right and wrong (justice), and make religious movies-(the biggest boom in the movie industry these days) or become a P. E. teacher, physical therapist, or personal trainer.

Well I’m 18 and will be starting college this fall, studying French and International affairs…ideally, I’d like to become an interpreter or a foreign diplomat in another country. I’m not sure how old you are, but don’t feel like you have to know what you want to do…even after you’re in college. People change their majors so many times, and if it’s necessary to do so in order to find the career that you love, then go for it! The worst thing you can do is pursue something that you only have lukewarm feelings for, keep searching for the thing that works for you. Best of luck!
