Do most school principals know how to look for body language during a lie?
is it required? do alot of principals use that skill? i.e. someone shifting their eyes, not sitting still, getting defencive, looking down and to the left… things like that?

no it is not required… and principals are not taught this unless they have had prior experience as a police officer.
I know police officers are learned to observe body language when speaking to someone.
My dad was able to. Me and my sister could tell him something, that he didnt know, and he would be able to tell if we were lying by our body language..
the way your eyes shift, fidgeting, looking down, playing with your hair, abrubt change in body position, or stammering.

It really depends on how long the principal has been working But in most cases yes they know when some one is moving around in their chair or if they’re looking around the room instead of right at them that tends to be a somewhat clear sign for liar.

Honestly, the kids who are lying probably know how to get away with it. Body language can be made stiff, so they don’t seem like they’re hiding something. Most principals don’t understand body language of kids, cuz some behave differently when lying.
