At one time all the Ivy League Colleges (Havard, Yale, Brown, Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, Cornell, and Dartmouth) were male only schools. For a long time these schools each had sister-schools that women went to (for example Harvard’s sister school Radcliff was established in 1879 – see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radcliffe_College ). It was not until the late 1960’s to late 1970’s that all of the Ivy League school undergraduate programs excepted both men and women. Since then the numbers of men and women have been actually favored women more over men (although however slightly) in total enrollment. I would suggest you take a look at the wikipedia article on the Ivy League for more information (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_League ).

Good Luck!!!
