can you cover a text book in contact paper?

my daughter has a odd sized text book for school and needs to have a cover for it. Can you use contact paper on text books or any other good suggestions? Thanks

You might try using colorful paper and just tape the paper to itself, like people who wrap gifts in department stores do. There’s usually a plasticky layer on the surface of textbook covers. When you peel back the contact paper, that’ll probably come off too and damage the look of the book. So, unless she owns the book, I wouldn’t try it.

Have you tried using a paper bag? Try to get the largest paper bag you can and see if that works otherwise I wouldn’t use contact paper.

Only if you own it because it will destroy the cover if you try to take it off later.
