at what age should children have a concrete separation of reality and fantacy, (fiction and nonfiction)?

how do you teach adult to differentiate reality from wishful thinking?

That depends ENTIRELY upon the emotional “age” of the child. I’ve known children who could make those destinctions at age 5; and Adults who never could figure them out! (And as far as “teaching adults to know the difference”- ah, – You’re alittle LATE on THAT one, Charlie… -It’s probably NEVER going to happen). 🙂

in all honesty,

i would say maybe 4-8,

depending on the maturity of your child and your definition of fiction (Santa Claus Easter bunny etc.)

some adults have not mastered this concept…I think it comes with maturity.
