Word problem?

If anyone can help it’d be nice, im having trouble with a question..

Lawn Fertilizer: One lawn fertilizer is 24% nitrogen, and another is 12% nitrogen. How much of each fertilizer should be mixed to obtain 100 kg of fertilizer that is 21% nitrogen?

I think the let statements are..

Let x represent the 24% one, and

Let y represent the 12%… but no idea if thats right or what to do next.. thanks!:D

you;re on the right track..

Let x = weight of 24% one

Let y = weight of 12% one

then, 0.24x+0.12y=0.21(100)

if you need help solving it from here, let me know

25Kg of 12% and 75Kg of the 24%

.12x + .24y = .24(100)

x + y = 100
