Someone in the book says he acts the same at home as he does in public.
He also tells Scout to try to put herself into someone else’s skin. He has empathy for people and treats them how he would want to be treated if he were them. Atticus treats everybody fairly and equally–Nathan and Boo Radley, Tom Robinson, even Bob Ewell.

I cant believe I remember this book. But he is a gentlemen because he is well respected by some, and knows how to respect others when they dont like him. When people caled him the “****** lover” he did not go up and make a fool of himself, he just stood back and didnt take action until the court ruling. There are many ways that he can be classified as a gentlemen but i reccommend you read the book its much easier.
