It’s like the Superman movie. Fractions are valuable and can add to an immense amount of total wealth.
One reason fractions are used is because of trade. If you own a stock and want to trade it for something else then how is this done? It has a monetary value and so does what you are trading it for. These rates fluctuate daily, even hourly so there relationship to each other changes constantly hence, fractionally. This is only cool money talk but it is easier than saying my stock when up $2.325 cents today, notice the additional cents placement. Fractions allow for this to be transmitted much easier and is more convenient.
